Booker T. Jones of
Booker T. & The MGs, who won a Grammy tonight. Booker T. released a cool instrumental solo album this year,
Potato Hole. The backing band on it was
The Drive By Truckers and
Neil Young played lead guitar on most of the album as well. He thanked them, and his wife, during his brief acceptance speech during the pre-telecast awards ceremony.
Booker: A Grammy in 2009? Congratulations, you are indeed, TIMELESS! I retired, got my lip back and sat-in on Beal and Bourbon Street when a bunch of us from IU (Mike Sims/Sonny Miller/etc) took our last bi-annual reunion excursion a few months ago. You and Man would love it. Of course you'll probably be booked up July, 2012.
