PUNCHING A GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH: EDDIE VEDDER SUED
The New York Post reports that Gordon Peterson of the band Indio is suing Eddie Vedder for (slightly) changing (some of) the lyrics in the song "Hard Sun" that Eddie covered on his Golden Globe winning Into The Wild soundtrack. The song, which also featured Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney, was introduced to Eddie by the film's director, Sean Penn. Not only did the song probably earn the guy some royalties, but it also arguably led to the reissue of Indio's only album, 1989's Big Harvest. C'mon, son.
