Rumors have been circulating today that Charlie Watts has quit The Rolling Stones, although the band has apparently released a statement saying that that isn't the case. I hope it isn't true: without Charlie, I just don't think it would still be the same. I thought it was OK that they went on after Bill Wyman quit (although some fans, including Bob Dylan, don't agree). But Mick Jagger and Keith Richards with Ron Wood and a bunch of hired hands, I just don't think that that works. The great British magazine Uncut has the scoop. And to cynics who say The Stones are just too old, who cares, blah blah blah... their last album, A Bigger Bang, was great, and their tour was amazing. Watch Shine A Light, shot on their last tour. You'll see.
