STEVE EARLE WINS HIS THIRD GRAMMY

Steve Earle put a lot of love into his latest album, Townes, a tribute to his late mentor, Townes Van Zandt. Not my favorite Steve album, but he has so many classics to choose from.  This is his third Grammy Award.

STEVE EARLE RECORDING TOWNES VAN ZANDT TRIBUTE

In an interview with Rolling Stone's website, the great Steve Earle says that he's recording a tribute to his late mentor, Townes Van Zandt. Which is no surprise, Steve always talks about Townes, and has said something to the effect that he would jump on Bob Dylan's coffee table and yell that Townes is the best songwriter ever. I personally prefer Dylan, but Townes Van Zandt was of course great. I don't know who else will be on this album, other than Tom Morello, which should be interesting .
