SPINAL TAP - THE RETURN

I forgot to write a review of Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer's "Unplugged and Unwigged" concert. It was hilarious, fun and great. They said that they are working on bringing Waiting For Guffman to Broadway, but who can know if they're serious. In related news, Spinal Tap's new album, Back From The Dead, is out tomorrow. They're playing Wembley Arena, with The Folksmen (their band from A Mighty Wind) opening. Classic. I just watched This Is Spinal Tap recently, and it is a timeless classic.

SPINAL TAP UNPLUGGED AND UNWIGGED

The bad news: the totally unhyped (and maybe unannounced) Spinal Tap "Unstoppable" tour of 2009 has been cancelled (see letter to the band here).

The good news: another band is touring and performing acoustic versions of the Spinal Tap songs you know and love. Actually, the band doesn't even have a cool name: it's Harry Shearer, Christopher Guest and Michael McKean. They'll also be playing music from the film A Mighty Wind. Now that sounds like a good time. The only question: who will be the percussionist?

SPINAL TAP TO RETURN!

The BBC says that Spinal Tap is in the studio working on a new album. Yes! Here's hoping for a tour. But I'm not volunteering to sit in on drums.
