Billboard's web site is reporting that Sony Legacy is putting out a huge Willie Nelson box set. It makes sense because they have all of Willie's Columbia and RCA stuff - but hopefully it will also include some of his more recent music for Island and Lost Highway. Some of his recent records - like It Will Always Be - are just excellent, and they tend to go underappreciated for some reason.I'm interested to check this box set out - Sony Legacy does a great job with this stuff (full disclosure: I've done liner notes for them in the past). But I'm more looking forward to his new album, Moment Of Forever, which comes out next week. Although it was produced by mainstream country superstar Kenny Chesney, I imagine it will go ignored by Nashville (who also ignored Johnny Cash, not to mention Loretta Lynn, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard, Steve Earle, etc.).
