Having already reissued their classic album The Joshua Tree, U2 is now preparing to do expanded reissues of their first three albums, 1980's Boy, 1981's October and 1983's War. They did such a good job with Joshua Tree, I'm excited to see what tracks and video footage they unearth for this. The Edge is overseeing the reissues, which is good news. I also hear that they may finally be releasing their classic 1983 home video, Under A Blood Red Sky, on DVD. Of course, the most exciting news as far as U2 is concerned is that they are working on a new album that should be out this year, and that they will be touring in 2009.

I'm more than a little pissed about these U2 reissues. Why, you might ask? Because a few years ago I spent a small fortune on "The Complete U2" iTunes download. Apparently, it wasn't all that complete if these reissues somehow manage to include "previously unreleased" tracks. Talk about greed and deception. So as a fan if I want the few tracks I must not have gotten with my purchase of "The Complete U2" then I get to shell out MORE money to the band. SO NOT COOL!
