PEARL JAM'S BIG PLANS

Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis recently did an interview with Billboard to discuss the band's new album (shades of Jon Landau who often does the same once a Bruce Springsteen album is finished and ready to go). He said that the band are releasing the album via Target - but Target will just be the exclusive "big box" retailer selling the physical copy. Small indie stores will still be able to sell the record, which will also be sold to Ten Club members via Pearl Jam's website. He said that they are also going to have deals with online partners, mobile partners, gaming partners, etc. The band will be premiering some songs tonight on the first episode of Conan O'Brien's new show. Speaking of the Ten Club, Pearl Jam just (hilariously) released their Christmas '08 single - there's one new song, the mellow acoustic "Santa Cruz," which is great. The B-side is Eddie Vedder with Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney doing X's "The Golden Age." And speaking of Eddie, even though Pearl Jam is doing some festivals this summer, Eddie is going on another solo tour.
