THIS WEEK ON OUTQ: "WE HOPE YOU LIKE OUR NEW DIRECTION"

This week on OutQ In The Morning With Larry Flick, my theme is "We hope you like our new direction." I thought of it because Jessica Simpson is releasing her first country album. Joan Baez is also releasing an album, recorded in Nashville, which was produced by Steve Earle. And ZZ Top's Eliminator - their foray into dance music beats, and also when they gave their image something of an upgrade - is being reissued.

There have been some great changes of direction: Bob Dylan going electric, and U2's change from being American-roots music obsessed earnest guys to ironic techno loving euro-hipsters on Achtung Baby

But I was trying to think of some of the worst ones. One that quickly came to mind was Elton John's disco album Victim Of Love. But even worse than that, was Dee Dee Ramone's album as Dee Dee King, Standing In The Spotlight. It was a hip-hop album. Wow. It's awesome in its awfulness. What are your favorite bad turns by good artists?
