My good friend who is the lead singer of The Benjamin Wagner Deluxe also is a big deal guy at MTV News and was lucky enough to cover U2's secret gig in Boston last night. It was sort of a TV event that also featured a Q&A with MTV's Sway Calloway. They only did five songs, though. Sounds like fun. I remember when All That You Can't Leave Behind came out, they did a one-off gig at New York's Irving Plaza (now known as The Fillmore) but they played for about an hour and a half. It was funny though: it was one of their first club gigs since they left the clubs, and they looked a bit awkward. Still, it was a great gig, and it's always cool to see a band like that in a small venue. Actually, it's always cool to see U2 anywhere, and I can't wait to see them at Giants Stadium in September.
