It's pretty exciting when artists - not their publicists, their keepers or their paid bloggers/tweeters, but the actual artists themselves - engage with fans online. Unfortunately, on the internet, a lot of worthless jerks have an opportunity to be obnoxious (and be noticed), and sometimes they can poison the pool.

Trent Reznor has made great use of Twitter, but sadly, he recently deleted his account. Here, he explains why. You really can't blame him, but it's a bummer anyway.
